Modern fits, versatile colors, and a focus on ethics…

These are things I’ve had a difficult time finding rolled up into one pair of jeans.

In fact, I’ve never bought a pair of ethical jeans before. For the last few years, I’ve been relying on old American Eagle jeans and thrifted pairs (which are, inexplicably, almost always too short – glad the ankle length thing is in).

There are a handful of brands that are either produced in the USA or incorporate low waste, nontoxic manufacturing processes, but many of them look just like your run-of-the-mill skinny jeans and, honestly, the fabric doesn’t look like it’ll hold up to years of wear.

So I’m really excited to see that Nashville-based FashionABLE – known for its minimalist jewelry and handbags – has released a denim collection as a part of their rapidly expanding ethical clothing line. I own one of their purses and a couple pieces of jewelry, so I know they insist on quality.

From the press release…

Comfort

We’ve sourced the best fabrics possible, from high performance stretch and recovery denim that molds and moves with you, to super soft non-stretch denim that instantly feel like your most well-loved jeans.  From the paper pattern to the final product, we have engineered each fit with real women’s bodies in mind.

Quality

Our denim is intentionally designed to stand the test of time. We invested in each step of the process, by working with the best denim pattern makers in New York, creating washes distressed and sanded by hand, and partnering with a trusted manufacturing partner with over 30 years of experience, to guarantee exceptional quality and unparalleled expertise.

Style

We’ve started with 10 strong pieces, created to be the foundation pieces to build your wardrobe around. While engineering modern fits, we also referenced heritage denim details such as pocket shapes, back patches, and a metal shank to make the jean feel authentic and timeless. One thing we love about denim: it can take you anywhere. Dress it up or dress it down – each wash is versatile and designed to accommodate all of our needs, bodies, and lives.

I haven’t tried their denim yet, as it’s just launched today, but I’m looking forward to checking out the selection next time I need a pair of jeans.
