Maven Women Professional, Ethical Dresses

Maven Women, founded by my friend Rebecca Ballard, is an ethical and sustainable clothing line intended to fill a gap in the ethical marketplace.

Focusing on women’s and femme professional wear, Maven Women offers a range of tops, skirts, and dresses made with GOTS certified materials.

Ballard started Maven Women out of her own context as a lawyer working on human rights and labor issues. She needed industry-appropriate workwear that was tailored to suit women’s bodies and was made with ethical labor.

Product development and production takes place at Lefty Production, an LA-based, women-owned factory that pays a living wage to their employees.

The Amira Dress

The ultimate wardrobe staple, the Amira transitions beautifully from season to season and is perfect for layering. This comfortable shift-style dress has a slight flare which flatters a woman’s natural figure.

Fit Notes: Go with the size that accommodates your largest measurement. The Amira and Sarah are made with non-stretch woven cotton, so a good fit is essential. I wear a Large in the Amira.
