We’re moving to Houston!
I will be starting a position as a curate in July. A curate is a recently ordained person who works in a clergy role for two years to get comprehensive experience in a congregational context. The rector (“head pastor”) of the church will serve as both my boss and my mentor.
Daniel and I are super excited to move to Houston. We’ve heard amazing things about the food and culture. We’ll be relieved once we find a place to rent and get all the moving details worked out.
I finished my last paper of divinity school yesterday, turned my library books in today, and will graduate in a couple of weeks.
It doesn’t feel real at all. These three years have been filled with health issues, a global pandemic, and general chaos, so I’m not really ready to positively reflect on my time here yet. I know I’ll miss the friends I’ve made. And I am grateful for the wonderful internships that have shaped who I am. But I still grieve the many hardships.

Big Skirt
This skirt has cowboy boots all over it!
I bought it at a little thrift store in Clinton, Connecticut before I even knew I got the Houston job. I just had a good feeling about it. And I couldn’t pass up a cowboy print circle skirt!
This is my first outfit post in MONTHS. To be honest, I started feeling really negative about my appearance in the fall and just couldn’t deal with having to look at myself this much. I also lost patience for getting my camera settings just right.
I’m trying to get over it and embrace imperfection.
